You have made the right decision not to leave. When watching them run, two of them are shot in their attempt to run. The other three are captured. The SS calls for another Penal Roll Call for all prisoners. The three men are lined up in front of the lines of people, and shot multiple times. You and the thousands of other prisoners must stand for multiple hours into the night, as punishment for the five prisoners actions.

If prisoners were caught attempting to escape, they were brutally murdered in front of the entire camp.
