The Story of A Chinese-American (ACWM)

You decide to remain in Rhode Island, eventually becoming baptized as a Protestant by the missionary. When drafted in 1863, you claim religious exemption, and because the South never invades New England, you live through the war relatively unscathed. After several years in the laundry business, the missionary invites you to visit China with him in order to evangelize.

Will you decline and continue your laundry business or join the missionary on his trip to China?
