"Let me see that feather," you say. Gavin hands it to you and you look it over. "I recognize this. It's a phoenix feather!"
"A phoenix," Gavin says with wide eyes. "What's a phoenix doing all the way down here in the south? Everyone knows that they keep to themselves and almost never fly south of the Misty Mountains unless it's an emergency."
"Plus, no phoenix would ever steal a little girl," you say. "Something strange is going on here."
"Master Crestwood might be able to help. No one knows more about magical creatures than him," Gavin says helpfully.
