CHAPTER 6
The hotel is a bustle of activity when you step inside. People scatter back and forth, checking in and checking out, moving luggage here and there. In the commotion, nobody seems to notice the princess wandering through the crowd. You find you rather like it that way.

Until someone knocks into you, sending you tumbling to the ground.

"My apologies! My apologies!" A man stammers as he helps you up. You wince and put a hand on your left side. You're sure you're fine, but that doesn't mean you won't have a few bruises the next day.

"My apologies, madam," the man continues. You pull your attention away from your side to look him in the eye and are struck by how piercing a shade of green they are. The rest of him, from his attire to his dark hair, is so subdued, but his mirthful green eyes dance even as he pulls you to your feet.

"I'm quite alright, sir," you say as you straighten your back. "I am... I'm Kathleen." You cover, hoping he doesn't recognize you.

"And my name is Irving." The man grasps your hand kissing the back of it with a flourish. You blush but don't protest. "Are you a local, ma'am?"

"Yes," you answer truthfully. "And you? Where are you from?"

"Nowhere!" Irving says with a wide grin. "I come and go where I please, when I please."
