A Harry Potter Adventure
You walk to the front door of Hagrid's hut and knock.
The door opens and Hagrid stands before you looking very solemn.
"Hey Hagrid," you begin. "I'm sorry if I've come at a bad time. I was wondering if Ron might be here."
"Eh, 'ts allright," he replies. "Ron is here. Come on in 'arry."
You follow Hagrid into the hut and find Ron sitting at the table.
You and Hagrid both sit with him as Hagrid begins to explain his low spirits.
"Ron an' I was jus' talkin about Dorey. That's what I've decided to call the Phoenix I have out back. She's not doin well, 'arry. Not well at all. I'm not too sure that she's gonna make it."
You and Ron look at each other feeling more than just a little uncomfortable as Hagrid puts his face in his hands and begins to cry.
Hagrid lifts his hands from his face and wipes away the tears from his cheeks as he pulls himself together.
"Excuse my rudeness 'arry," Hagrid states. "Let me get you some tea."
As Hagrid turns and leaves the room, Ron begins to speak.
"He's been like this all morning. I asked him where the Phoenix came from, and he said that Dorey fell right out of the sky while he was in Knockturn Alley buying your birthday gift. Strange, isn't it, that Dorey fell right into one of the most creepiest places."
"Yeah," you reply, "Whatever made it sick must've been somewhere close by when it fell. We should probably tell Hermione and see what she thinks. But first I have to tell you about my strange dream last night..."
You tell Ron about your dream in full detail and await his response.
"Wow," he replies. "That's wicked! What do you think is behind the doors?"
"I don't know. I just hope, when I find out, that it is something good."
"Have you told anyone else about this?," Ron questions.
"No. I thought I'd hear what you had to say about it first."
"Well," he begins, "It probably would be ok if you mentioned it to Hermione, but otherwise, I'd keep it to yourself. You don't want to blow it out of proportion in case it isn't anything at all.
You decide to heed Ron's advice about keeping the dream a secret between you and your 2 best friends.
Just then, there is a knock at the door. Slowly, the door opens as Hermione lets herself in.
"I thought I might find you guys here. I have some important information about the Phoenix," Hermione says as she pulls a thick book from her satchel and begins to read from it. "'A Phoenix may only become ill when it has been drained of it's magical powers,'" Hermione reads, "'Some symptoms include inability to fly, extreme fatigue, and loss of magical powers.' This sounds just like Hagrid's Phoenix!"
"You mean Dorey," Ron corrects.
Hagrid walks back into the room carrying a steaming tea kettle.
"Oh Hi ya Hermione," Hagrid begins. "It's good to see you again."
The 3 of you politely drink tea with Hagrid as you tell him about Hermione's news.
"I dunno who would do such a thing," Hagrid replies. "Dorey seems so harmless. Who would want to go and hurt her like that?"
You all look around at each other and no one has an answer to give Hagrid.
"Ah, nothin we can do about it now anyway," Hagrid continues. "I was just gettin around to checkin' on her. You guys wanna come?"
