"I was running from the explosion," you say, slamming your head back into her face. There is satisfaction found in the severity of the impact and the crack of her nose. Her grip around your throat weakens and you are able to break free. You take her arm and lean forward, flipping her over your back and onto the hard ground before you.

She lands with a thud and you still do not see her. Not at first anyway, you take note of a deep red floating in the air as if seeping through some invisible fabric. The bitch is invisible, you realise.

You figure the blood is her nose, and guess right. You grab her about the neck and tense your muscles, preparing to snap it in half.

A knee comes up somehow, connecting with your diaphragm. She uses the momentum of the blow to flip you over and onto your back. Something heavy hits your face over and over again. You're pretty sure they are fists. You wonder how she can connect so hard.

You punch her in where you think her gut should be three consecutive times while she pummels away at your face. The strength of your final blow is enough to knock her off of you. A human without genetic enhancements would be have been hard pressed to pull a feat of strength such as that. The next step in evolution, afterall; is through man made genetic enhancement.

You roll to your feet and look around. You see no signs of her.
