Forest Dweller

"My child, Adam. You were borne under my branches."
"I thought I was found-"
"Your mother was an elf, your father a human. You are half human as she is. Your mother died after giving birth, due to a disease. Your father died in turn from the bond elves share in marriage. The secret has been hidden from you for a long time, but I believe you should know it. The sword you now carry was your father's. I asked for it to be given to you when you were found worthy of it. Now, use it to dispatch Ayla's killer."
"Kill her father?-"
"HE IS NOT MY FATHER!" Ayla yells, tears streaming from her eyes. You comfort her, hugging her tightly. She sobs, clutching onto you just as hard.
"I'll do it." You reply with determination.
"You will leave tomorrow. Tonight, you train with Elk. Unlike Elk, he will not be merciful. Therefore, this training will be much more difficult. You will most likely sleep late, and we will train as soon as you awaken." You nod. After a few parting words, you leave Ayla and head for the arena underground where Elk awaits.
