Forest Dweller
You find Ayla tending to some herbs in one of the many gardens.
"Adam! What's the matter?" She asks, worried. You sigh. You tried your best to hold your discomfort inside, but elves have a keen sense of auras and your feeling must have been clearer than day.
"The ritual- the wood was silent when I completed it."
"Did you listen well? Your ears are not as keen as ours, so you may not have heard correctly. The wood always replies in at least a whisper."
"It's not just that- I just have a feeling something is out of place." You hear a strange clicking in the background. A normal human would know it as gunfire, but you are untrained.
"What is that?" She asks, perplexed. Again, you feel that same chill. Almost as if something is watching, waiting... waiting for you to make a decision.
