The Villain Manifesto

A bit more confident at not being discovered (though still slightly cautious), you begin to roam around the nicely-equipped home.

Before long, you've come upon a bedroom, lavishly equipped with a four-poster bed made of cedar with silk hangings of several gorgeous hues. So grandiose are you surroundings, in fact, that you are a bit surprised that such accoutrements would be housed in such a cottage-like, half-timber house stuck in the middle of a slummy back alley.

You put those thoughts to the back of your mind at once when your eyes behold the magnificent oaken wardrobe! You open it to find all sorts of wondrous attire, all looking to be about your size, in fact. You pick out a tunic and pants that are perhaps the most humble of the lot (to remain inconspicuous), yet still remarkable. You feel a faint itch on your skin after donning the clothes, but decide to hurry back to the door to the alley so you may make your escape from Vitomir.

Once outside in the alley, the wind happens to catch a note on the ground and brushes it up against your leg. The note has a rip in the top of it, almost as if it had been nailed to something previously. Glancing back at the door of the house, you see a fresh nail imbedded in the door - it can't have been there more than a day or two.

With trepidation, your eyes return to the note, which reads:

"Well, well, well, Thief Master Frendell!
I'll bet you never thought I, the great wizard Latovan, could track you down, did you?
By the time you read this note, you'll already likely be wearing some of your clothes, upon which I've cast a Festering Crud spell.
That itch you feel right now is only the beginning of a leprosy that will devour your entire body within the next (or should I say, last) agonizing hour of your pitiful life.
For what time you have remaining, think on this: no one steals from the Wizard's guild in Yorlindria!
"

The itch is getting worse. It's too bad that Vitomir shall be your grave now.
