You send Lars to the keep with the fastest horse in your stables and secure the tower.

Days pass without word. As the week draws to a close, Jaf, your only capable guardsmen, summons you to the top of the tower. Though it is dark you soon espy movement in the distance. Dark figures are slouching through the forests toward your tower.

You make ready the defenses and rush into the barracks to get Gurny only to find the distraught soldier dangling from the rafters with his belt around his throat.

With just you and Jaf to man the walls there is little you can do to protect the tower. The creatures prove to be excellent at scaling even the smoothest stone, and they overwhelm you with ease.
