Legend
Its somewhat frowned upon for members to leave the Hideout without a specific goal or mission, but it occurs anyway, however the penalties for calling attention to this place and the Dark One still apply. You decide to go out at night like most do. After all the night is better to hide and escape if need be.
You go back to that cess pit The Poison Blade Inn. The sin here is so thick you could cut it with a knife. You love it. You decide to just take in the atmosphere and sit at one of the back tables by yourself observing and listening.
Of course in a place like this you aren't only one to be doing something like this, soon someone insists on sitting with you. It's a man in dark clothing. You don't like him immediately.
"Crowded in here tonight, it's that dancing girl. Brings 'em all out whenever she shows up. Can't say I blame them, she's one of the prettier strumpets in this area."
"I suppose so." You grunt.
"Oh. I guess you're here on business then?"
"Not really."
"Well what then?"
"Do you always ask so many questions? I'm just sitting here minding my own business; I suggest YOU do the same."
"Is that a threat?"
"A friendly warning."
"Hmm, I see well perhaps in keeping with this friendliness, I probably should inform you that I know who you are and what you've done."
You begin to stand up and ready to draw your weapon, but the man in the dark robe just smiles.
"No need for that I have no intention on doing anything about it at least not until my superiors tell me to anyway."
"Who are you?" you demand.
"Just an observer. Trying to get the Temples to war against each other is a good plan. You handled it a little sloppy, but then again the Dark One is prone to settle things with a sledgehammer rather than a silent dagger."
This man is obviously a Priest of Fel. You immediately tense up and put your back as close to the wall at possible while looking around.
"No, no, no, as I said, there will be no assassination tonight. When it does come though, you'll never know. Anyway, since our current goals are the same, I figured I might ask you for a favor."
"Me? And why would I do the likes of YOU a favor?" you sneer.
"Because this favor helps you as well and could even raise your status in your cult or whatever you call it. I would do it myself, but why should I possibly dirty my hands on the task if I can get you to do it? As long as the deed is done is all my superiors care about."
"Alright I'll play, what is it?"
"Okay, see that pretty dancing girl I was talking about earlier? Well she's more powerful than meets the eye. She's the mother of the Baron's illegitimate son. Obviously not many know this fact. In fact as far as we know, only WE know about it. The Baron keeps her well supplied even though she has no aspirations for blackmail or royal ambition. She is content on living a simple life, but probably accepts the monetary gifts for her son's sake. Anyway, she needs to be killed along with her son. That's it."
"Well, that's all very interesting, and not that I have anything against doing such a deed, but I fail to see how this helps me."
"Hmmm, you must be new to your cult, or very out of it. Either way you'll have to figure out how it helps your side yourself, but trust me, it does."
"I don't trust anyone."
"Smart. But I'm not forcing you to perform this task; I have merely given you the information. If you choose not to, then I shall do it."
