Legend

The woman in the gem looks like Brenda, and she begins speaking to you in your mind.

"My love! I knew if I maintained my faith that I would eventually be freed from this prison! It must truly be the Divine plan that it would be YOU who would free me!"
"What? How did this happen?" you say a little overwhelmed by this event.
"My spirit was not allowed to ascend to the glory of the One True God, evil demons grabbed it and dragged it down into the fiery pitÂ…they imprisoned it in this gem. I do not know why, all I know is I am in constant pain, I feel eternal tormentÂ…I need to be released to be properly reunited with our God. Please my love, break the gem and release me. Perhaps if it be his will, we could even be reunited in the flesh again. Wouldn't you like to feel soft touch of my skin against yours again, my love?"

As much as you miss Brenda and would like to see her again, you know this is a lie and this is obviously a demon, most likely a succubus. The demon within this gem is attempting to use past love to fool you, but this is not going to work. For one thing, you know how devoted Brenda was in her faith; there would be no way her soul could be taken by demons. The faithful ascend to the glory of HIM, upon death and no demon can prevent that. Touching the lock of Brenda's hair, you are also reminded of how your feelings cannot be manipulated by mere temptations of the flesh either. You know what you must do.

You take the gem to the Church altar. Sensing that the demon's attempt at deception hasn't worked, it resorts to threats, but you ignore those and wake up Father Alberto and a few of the other priests saying that a ritual over the gem must be made.

The ritual is tiring, but not overtly so since the demon was already trapped and couldn't properly fight back. After everything is said and done, the gem is completely exercised. You're still not sure about keeping it though, so you dispose of it.

Still, one less demon in the world makes it a little safer.
