Legend

Maybe you need not resort to violence on a massive scale; the word of the One True God should always be attempted first. You approach some people hanging around the temple of Karn and begin preaching.

"You there! Why do you follow this bloodthirsty pagan god?" you ask a commoner.
"Huh? Oh, uh…well because my father was a soldier and his prayers to Karn seemed to help him survive. Made him strong to combat his enemies."
"And do you believe that only physical prowess in battle is the only way to be strong? What of you? You're obviously not a soldier, you look like a simple store guard. The greatest possible threat you probably encounter is a pickpocket, so why follow Karn?"
"Erm well he did keep my dad alive, so I guess I kind of owe him my gratitude, besides my father's father prayed to him as well, so it's a tradition."
"Nonsense! It was once tradition to rub horse manure on one's chest to cure a fever, but you don't see anyone doing that anymore do you?"
"Who in Karn's name did THAT?" another peasant asks.
"Well, maybe it was just in my village…look the point is; Karn cares nothing for any of you! He is only concerned with his own personal power! He continues to manipulate and bully all of you so he maintains it."
"Oh yeah? Well how's that any different from YOUR god heh? I can see you're a priest of that weird new cult, you people always have a lot of weird ideas and try to act like you have all the answers!" a burlier looking peasant exclaims
"Your words couldn't be any more wrong. The One True God doesn't seek your worship for his own power. He doesn't even need it. He only wants your worship because he loves you and wants you to ascend to his glorious kingdom. And no, I don't have all the answers, but HE does, and if you let him into your heart you shall find all of them."
"Huh! Love! How's THAT suppose to protect us from murders, monsters and demons? Perhaps Karn is a bit harsh, but he teaches us to try to be stronger and he protects us and so do his priests, every time I see one of you types you're always getting beat up! Hah! I'm surprised your cult still exists!"

At this point the people are beginning to get restless, and now one of the Priests are coming out wondering why there's a big crowd lingering around outside.

"By Karn's sword why are you all…WHAT?! A priest of the One WEAK God here? I see his faithful are stupid as well as weaklings if he chooses to send you here in front of Karn's mighty Temple! Why is it that you lot are always ready to die so easily? Dying outside of battle is a coward's death!"
"And dying without the salvation of the One True God is a fool's death." You say calmly.

"I'll not take an insult from a worshipper of the weak!" the Priest yells and draws his sword.
