The Island of Destiny

"Yarrgh!" the pirate exclaims. "I knew it!" He starts to bounce around in the sand before you and you assume that this is his way of celebratory dancing. You can't help but think that if these ropes weren't pressed down into your chest, you'd totally be cracking up right now. As it is, the humor doesn't last long as a loud gunshot rings out and the pirate drops dead as a doornail in front of you.

You then watch, not sure whether to be happy or scared, as a large group of militia men strut down the beach to where you are. You suddenly feel very low compared to them seeing as you are tied to a tree.

A man leaves the group and approaches you. He is wearing a three-pointed hat and a red suit, just like you remember seeing the British wear during the American Revolution movies you've watched.

"Are you a pirate or a prisoner?" he asks you.

"A-a prisoner," you mumble. This whole situation is getting just a little bit crazy.

"Well then greetings there, comrade. I am Admiral Eugene Francis Hancock III of His Majesty's Royal Navy. We are here on this island to exterminate a group of pirates seen to be traveling this way. As we just shot one, I would assume there are more around. Have you seen any?"

You shake your head. Is this guy serious? Is it really possible that somehow you traveled back in time? The thought is really too much for you to comprehend right now, so you just continue to go with it.

The admiral scans the island before him and then mutters "Damn, they could be anywhere."

"Could you please untie me?" you ask him, in the nicest tone you feel you can throw on.

The admiral glances at you a little sideways. "You're dressed a little funny. Where are you from, did you say?"

Here it is, your one opportunity to make him believe you. You don't even want to think of what'll happen if he doesn't. Where could you say you are from that this British guy is going to believe you?
