The Island of Destiny
You stand back with your fellow hunters Robert and Eddie. They wait patiently, knowing that Xavier and Jack will get this kill. Surely enough, a few moments later shots are heard further in the jungle. Jack emerges from the jungle a few minutes later, Xavier trailing behind him with the boar on his shoulder. A successful kill.
After a vigorous and fulfilling day of hunting, you return later to camp where Greg greets you and starts to prepare fires to cook your boar. As you start to cut up the boar for preparation, you can't help but overhear some of a conversation between Greg and Robert. They stand talking near a tree, four or five feet away from your table. Eyes not moving up from the table, you pretend to be focused on your task.
"So a few hours before you all came back, I definitely heard a scream coming from that area where Tyler took off in." you hear from the anxious voice of Greg.
"Well, I'll tell you this," you pick up from Robert's confident tone. "If he's not back at nightfall, he's gone."
"Are we really just gonna let him go? We could be out there looking for him!"
"Just let it go Greg..."
You now can't help but look up as you watch Greg sulk away from Robert and a few seconds later, Robert ducks into his tent. You feel a chill as you think about the venturous Tyler, was he really in trouble that badly?
A few hours later, the boar is roasting and your hunting crew sits around the campfire waiting. Xavier, Eddie, and Jack play cards while Robert reads some old-looking papers. You see Greg standing by the tree line, as if sizing up the riskiness of going in there.
