Hall of Infinite Doors
There was little explanation needed, because John had heard and seen many references to it and a few movies that featured it for about 30 seconds. He needed the farmer to start him off, but after that he was on his own. It wasn't long until his hands felt cramped up and his arms grew tired, but his job wasn't done yet. After about 10 minutes of this, he took a small break to rest his hands and his arms. He clenched his fists tightly and relaxed them until they felt a little better, and then started milking again.
Betty was very calm the entire process, and he found it slightly rewarding when he had filled a bucket. John was about to leave and go find the farmer when the farmer appeared with a new bucket and trucked the full bucket without saying a word. John looked at his watch and notice it was 7:24. He wondered when these people ate. He normally ate dinner around 5:00 and he hadn't had any lunch today. His stomach gave a growl of agreement before he began on his second bucket.
Betty gave John another three quarters of a bucket of milk before she ceased. The farmer came back shortly after and took that bucket away. He then appeared rather quickly.
"That's a wrap for today.", he grinned, and said, "You worked like a natural-born farmer today."
John smiled, and shook the farmers hand formally.
"Are you ready for some dinner?", The farmer asked almost rhetorically.
"You know it!", John replied as his stomach growled. John blushed at the sound, but the farmer found it amusing and they headed for the house.
