The Great Conflict

In order to keep up with the guide bot you are unable to actually use the ladder. Instead, using the friction of your hands and feet pressing against the walls to slow you, you simply slide down the tube. When you pick up to much momentum you simply apply more pressure to slow yourself down and are able to this way match the rate of the guide bots decent. After dropping down quite a significant distance the guide bot releases a loud beep, stops and leaves through a doorway. You are forced to grab onto a rung of the latter to stop yourself and fortunately do not pull your arm out of the socket in the process. You then step through the doorway into a small room. The room seems quite hot and is glowing red from the blinking red emergency lights. Steam emerges from the various gaps in the floor and walls and it seems as if the temperature is rising. Suddenly, your headpiece begins to pick up a broadcast, it is broken but you can make out small pieces, "Can't broadcast for long…system malfunctioning…find subterranean engineers…utility systems reaching critical level…need your assistance to repair….repair bots still off line….hurry or system will be lost…" and then all you can hear is static. Soon after the broadcast you hear a large metal door being open.
