You put your engine power at the highest setting possible, and charge straight for the carriers. You adjust some setting on the control panel to overload the engine. You can hardly believe what you're doing.
"Richard, wait!" Peter screams frantically over the intercom. "The escorts, they can tell what we're doing. They've all broken rank and are scattering in all directions as fast as they can! The two carriers are trying to go too, but they're not as fast. We could catch up to them and take them out while they're unguarded, we don't need to blow ourselves up!"
You check your screen. Sure enough, the escorts are all fleeing. You lower engine power to release the strain and change all settings back to normal. You're still going very fast, and are soon within range of the carriers. You let loose with everything you've got.
With two very satisfying explosions, the last of the carriers are destroyed. The enemy must have wanted to take the station for themselves, because the escorts continue retreating instead of trying to destroy the station.
You sit back in your seat with a sigh, then laugh. Against all odds you managed to save the station and live to tell the tale. Still laughing, you turn your glider towards the station and head back.
