The Mold

There is a stark contrast between the brightness in the wide open and the darkness of the forest. The trees practically blot out all sunlight except for some that is able to trickle through the cracks and crevices illuminating the area. The blue-green mold trail remains strong for a good ten minutes of walking. Soon the trail starts to grow faint and broken with less and less mold appearing. It continues this trend until lose the trail entirely. You now stand deep within the forest. It seems that there are two places you could have lost the monster's trail. First, you have noticed the ground getting rockier as you traveled and to your left the dirt dissipates entirely giving way to a series of rock formations. Secondly you can see a stream to your right that would not hold any evidence of the monsters presence for long. It is very likely that the monster traveled one of these routes, which do you wish to further explore?
