The drawer may be ajar, but it's still half-closed. The locking mechanism isn't giving way without a fight. You put Reggie's keyring on top of the cabinet so that you can pull harder. It takes some pulling, but you manage to force the drawer open. The cabinet shakes from the impact, and you hear a clinking sound. Reggie's keyring just fell between the cabinet and the back wall. Oh well.

The label on the drawer says "Not yet filed", so there aren't many folders. Still, there's enough here to satify your curiosity.
