Days in the Dorm
Whatever It Takes
With true sincerity you look at her and say, "Because I've grown to care about you a lot."
She looks oddly at you. "And what does that have to do with me getting dressed up for my friend?"
"I hate to admit it, but the idea of you going out with another guy makes me a little jealous. I see you every day and we have a special connection here. I don't want you traipsing off with some guy."
She shakes her head and looks at you with shock. "What!? We aren't even a couple. You are my roommate and you don't even seem to show that much interest in me half the time. And now you want to tell me who I can and can't see?"
"Well." You cock your head and give her a mixed look. "I can't help it. You just do something to me and I don't want to have to think of you and some guy together."
"Whatever." She says with a huff and a shake of her head. "Besides, who said I was going out with a guy?"
"You aren't?" You face fills with hope.
"Not that it's any of your business, but I'm not. I am meeting up with a female friend of mine and we are going to watch a show and get some dinner after class. So don't get your panties in a bunch over it."
"Sorry." You say with a shrug, but feeling much better. "But I'm glad."
"Whatever." She says again, hiding as much contempt as she could. "Just let me be. I don't care for your attitude and trying to control me. I need to think about things."
She leaves you alone in the room and you know you are losing any chance you have with her. You came off too controlling, needy, and clingy at the same time. Somehow you have to win her back and get things back in the right groove. You aren't sure what to you but you better decide soon.
