Realising that the pack would be too cumerbsome you deecide to dismantle it so that at least no one else will be able to use it.

You take the pack apart and dismantle the jetpack. You don't want to compromise what you are already carrying as your weapons and supplies are vital to your survival. While taking apart the machine does not give you the benefit of rapid movement, it does ensure that no one else will have that advantage.

You do find one part of the pack that may prove useful; the rocket fuel tank. You marvel briefly of how small it is and wonder if you should take it. It isn't in the most secure container with the recent dismantling, but would be excellent for starting fires and/or destroying the opposition.

The voice from above announces another death while you ponder wiegh the pros and cons of keeping the container of rocket fuel.

You dump the fuel out over the ground and walk away; headed down river in the direction the woman had gone.

The river flows to your right and you see trout below the surface. You lick your lips at the thought of trout.

You hear movement in the wood to your left and spin around at the sound, your boy tensed. The sound comes closer, crashing through the brush and headed towards the river. You back away from the riverside with caution and wait for whatever is coming your way.

A deer bursts through he trees, a cougar bursting out right behind, leaping upon the deer's back, raking it with claws and biting in with teeth. The deer struggles briefly, but it has no hope. The cougar eats it while it is still kicking.
