The demon scam
"Please spare me!" you beg, dropping the dagger. "I didn't mean to.. just don't kill us!" You shiver, the pain from the slash across your cheek burning like fire.
Merle just stares at the demon in horror, saying nothing.
The cat-demon flicks her tail and watches you with contempt. "How pitiful... you do not deserve my mercy."
You cower back, touching your bleading cheek. "I'm sorry..."
The feline female snorts and seems ready to leave. "Better not keep up that attitude if you want to live, little one," she says and turns, walking away.
