The demon scam
As you are too concerned about your little sister, you are not particularly worried about drawing attention to yourself. Putting your hands to your mouth, you call out as loud as you can, "Merle!!? Can you hear me?"
You listen intently for a reply, but the only thing you can here is the choking silence. This is rather bad... Glancing around tells you that at least there seems to be no demons around either, but that is not much of a comfort.
You start walking aimlessly, not knowing where to start looking.
Before long, you hear a snarl behind you and when you turn, you see a whole pack of hungry-looking demon hyenas closing in on you. More than likely, you attracted them with your screaming.
