The demon scam
As you touch the glow, the tree unexpectedly pulls you in and swallows you up. For a moment, it blackens before your eyes and the world seems to spin and turn upside down... There is a sudden and sharp pain going trough your body, probably because the portal is about to close, and you feel your strength being sucked out of your body.
The next thing you know is that you are falling, and you tumble out on the other side, losing your balance.
Disoriented, weak and hurting, you sit up and look about, finding yourself in strange surroundings. As far as you can see, there are blueish rock formations, twisted and ragged in a rather eery manner, looming over you infront of a background made up from a threatening red sky.
What's even worse, you realize what this place is - it must be the demon realm you've heard the elders in your village warn you about so many times. Sometimes, portals between the demon realm and the human world open up, and the tree must have served like one of those. Surely Merle stepped through here. Damn her curiousity...
You bite your lip, knowing that it is forbidden for mortals to be in this realm, and you are glad you have your dagger with you, but you need to find Merle and get out of here fast.
