"One... Two... Three..." The deputy stands and fires while you duck low and rush for the back door.
You pass by a few cells while the Vigilantes fire back. You hear the deputy let out a moan and fall to the floor as you pass a prisoner pleading to be set free.
You're more interested in your own survival, though, and keep on moving for the door. You ram your shoulder into the oaken door and it swings wide open.
You run out into the alleyway that runs behind the buildings, making your way to the stables in the hopes that your horse is still within.
You risk a glance behind you as you run away and spot one of the Vigilantes exiting the jail house and looking quickly around for you. He spots you and points his gun at you.
You try to draw in time, but his gun goes off before you have the chance. Fortunately the bullet sails past you and splinters the wooden fence beside you.
You return fire and watch in dismay as your own bullet ricochets off of the building behind him. He takes aim again and you quickly duck into an alleyway just as the crack of his gun goes off.
It is not far to the stables and you are pleasantly surprised to find Betty, your horse, still within. You quickly mount up and back out of the stable just in time to see the man who was shooting at you before standing behind you.
He shoots once and takes Betty down. The second shot hits you in the left hand. Thankfully you shoot right. You draw and fire and knock the man on his back, dead before he hits the ground.
You get into another stable, prepared to steal the horse so that you can escape when you hear several footsteps enter the structure. You know immediately that this is the end and quietly fill the few empty chambers in you pistol with bullets as they draw near.
You pull the trigger twice before they even spot you and you watch with grim satisfaction as two of the men fall to the ground. You fire a third and forth as they take aim and pull triggers. A fury of bullets scream past your ears, but one hits you on the left, just under your rib cage. You spin with the impact of the bullet and fire upon them again once you do a full circle. Two more of their men are on the ground, you note as bullet after bullet plunges into your body.
A fifth man falls before you and you fire your sixth bullet to the same effect even as your life blood seeps out of the wounds riddling your chest. You fall to your knees and pull the trigger again, but no boom echoes from it this time.
A bullet hits your shoulder and you fall onto the ground in a writhing, twitching heap. You watch your blood form a little lake of plasma around you as you slip into an eternal slumber.
