Arena

You head West, moving through the desert sands as the sun beats down on you from above. Sand stings at your face as the wind picks up.

You ration your water as efficiently as you can, but efficiency is trying in the scorching desert heat. You are screwing the cap back on the canteen when you feel something catch at your foot.

You bend down and pull up a lenght of rope from beneath the sand, some six feet in length. You take one end and tie it around your canteen strap, doing the same on the other. You spin the canteens around a few times on the end of the rope, satisfied at the loud swooshing sound it makes as it rips through the air. This would make a good weapon indeed.

You continue walking through the sand, the dune rising beneath you. As you step over the crest of the dune a glimmer of light shines up from below. You look down to see a young man below with an axe in hand.
