You pull out your pistol and approach the prisoner on your horse's back. Slowly, you untie him as he stares at you with wide eyes full of terror. You take him down from the Betty's back and stand him up with his back against Coyote Rock.

"What are you going to do to me?" He asks you.

You raise the gun and press the barrel to his forehead. He flinches and starts to sob, desperately trying to dodge his punishment.

"Stay still, now. I'll make sure your death is swift." You say to him in a soothing voice.

Your words have little effect. "Do you have any last words?" You ask him.

Annie shouts at you from behind. "Aw, for Christ's sake! If you're gonna shoot him, shoot him. Stop playing with him!!"

You take her advice this time and pull the trigger. His eyes go dead almost immediately. It looks like he's staring at something far off that only he can see as he slides to the ground. His brains leave a mess on the side of Coyote Rock and you can hear the rock's namesakes howling in the distance. Dinner is served, they seem to be saying.

You turn back to your companions, a sick smile on your face. Annie is holding a hand over her mouth and looks on the verge of vomiting.

"Let's get out of here." Gus says.

"Aren't we burying the body?" You ask.

"What's the point? The damn coyotes'll just dig him up." He reasons.

You can't really argue with that reasoning, and you swing yourself up onto Betty's back. You glance once at the man whose life you took. The man had hopes and dreams. You have shattered those dreams.

"Where are we headed?" You ask of your companions as you look to them.

"For now? Kallow." Gus says. "After that, I was thinking about the railway. There's money trains we can hit, headed to the federal deposits. The tracks are a coupl'a days east of Kallow."

Annie shakes her head. "That's too dangerous. There's plenty of money to be had on the wagon trails, though perhaps not quite as much. But there will be far less guards, which makes for a smaller risk."

"You're goin' yella on me, girl." Gus says.

Annie turns to you. "What do you think, shit head?"

Gus looks to you as well.

Looks like the choice is up to you. The trains mean more money, but also a greater risk. The wagon trail won't bring you as much revenue, but you have a better chance of surviving the encounter.
