You strike Garrick down, who falls to the floor bleeding heavily. Surprisingly he's laughing.
"What the hell are you laughing about old man?"
"Ha ha ha (Cough) just that, Tanya's gonna end up ripping you apart and feasting on your bones."
"Tanya loves me you idiot."
"Ha (Cough) for now. I look into your eyes and I see the concern. You've noticed a change in her haven't you? Told you not to mess with a girl with demon blood. You're a walking dead man. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
"And you're just a dead man."
You land another blow which ceases the laughing.
You search Garrick's body and find 20 gold pieces in his money belt. Tanya arrives with a disappointed look.
"Dammit! I told you to leave something for me! Now I'm going to have to punish you tonight like the naughty little human you are!" she says slapping you "playfully" across the face.
That's the second time you've heard her refer to people by their race. You didn't mind it when she said that about the thieves, but referring you by that designation is a little troubling to you.
You and Tanya head back the way you came to meet back up with the crew. When you arrive, most of Syndicate members are just mopping up and looting what they can. You instantly make a beeline to your old Guild room but find its been stripped clean. If you were keeping any gold or objects there, they're gone now and you must cross them off. In fact you might as well cross off your Guild room altogether, from what you've been over hearing, apparently the Syndicate has plans to expand into slave trade and this would be a good place to do it.
The short grubby man who spoke to you before the attack comes up to you.
"Been wondering where you been. Saw you two ducking into a passage after Garrick I presume. So did you get him?"
"Yeah. We managed to stop him before he got out of a passage that lead out of the city."
"A passage that leads out of the city? That's great! That makes this an even better location for our slave trade operation!"
"So I heard."
"Okay, well I guess you two will be wanting to meet Falcon again for your reward and such. Come on I'll take you back to him. Hey at least you won't have a crossbow in the back this time! Ha ha!"
You look at him in disbelief
"That was YOU?!" you say.
"Well, yeah. What were you expecting? Another pretty face? Come on let's go see Falcon."
Before you can do anything, Tanya suddenly slashes the man's eyes, blinding him for life. He screams in pain and falls to the ground clutching them. Other Syndicate members look very surprised. They don't make a move against either of you though and go back to their looting.
"Let's see how good you are with a crossbow now human, and we remember how to get back Falcon's."
