Legend
You choose a door at random and pick the lock easily. Though when you open the door up you almost wish you hadn't.
You see a trophy room of sorts, except instead of animals or magical beasts, it's of humans, elves and other sentient creatures. Stuffed heads line the walls in a grisly fashion and there is furniture made of bones. Some of it with the skin still on it. You can't imagine what lies in the other locked rooms.
It's obvious the person living here is one sick puppy and/or dabbling in the dark arts. It also explains why he isn't married and has no family. Just goes to show psychos appear in all level of society. The rich are just able to get away with it a lot better.
You ignore the thoughts of the injustices of society though, and get back to your own criminal behavior. You don't find anything except more gruesome trophies of various body parts. You do find a small case of sharp looking tools of some sort. They're deadly looking but they're really too small and/or odd to be used as proper weapons though. They look more like something one of those people dedicated to healing would use to cut people open and prod around inside. You get the impression these things have seen a lot of use and not for healing either. Upon further inspection, you notice that these things are made of Mithril, which is normally a rare material saved for making armor. You take the case as something you can sell, you figure depriving this madman of his killing devices is the least you can do.
Before you can do anything else you hear noise coming from downstairs.
"An intruder has violated our sacred home! Go my pet and you may dine on their entrails before I perform my necessary work on the rest of the corpse!" a voice says.
You quickly look for a way out, but there aren't any windows in this room, you exit the room and realize you can't go back downstairs, it will be blocked by the madman and his pet which are both coming up the stairs no doubt. You remember the bedroom doesn't have a lock, and since you know the owner is downstairs there shouldn't be anyone in there.
You rush in and head for the window, unfortunately the madman's pet reaches you before you can get out. The "pet" in question is an ugly little flying IMP creature intent on tearing your eyes out. You'll have to fight.
IMP
SKILL: 9
STAMINA: 6
If the Imp ever manages to roll double sixes, it successfully has clawed your eyes out, blinding you. As you flail about in agony the next target for the imp is your throat. Your gruesome death follows shortly after and your adventure ends here.
If you win, you escape out the window and climb down before the owner comes to finish the job his pet started.
