Legend
Your trip back home is uneventful surprisingly, though you're not really sure why you decided to go back to something that doesn't even exist anymore.
(Subtract 2 Rations during your trip or else lose 6 STAMINA points due to hunger)
When you arrive you find your former home still in ruins. It almost looks the same as you left it a year ago. Then again the orcs that destroyed it didn't leave much for anyone else to loot. You lost so much that fateful night, and what is ultimately caused you to pursue your life of adventure. You can only wonder what might've happened had you stayed.
You head over to perhaps the only reason why you came back, to see Brenda's grave. You're alarmed when you see that it hasn't just been disturbed, but completely unearthed and it's quite possible that it wasn't dug up by someone else either judging by the looks of it. You also notice that the Chapel you built has been partially destroyed as well.
You already can sense the evil in the area. There is after all only one reason for a grave to be unearthed. This entire place has been tainted by something. As you're saying a quiet prayer to yourself wondering what to do next, a few figures lurch out of the ruins of your old church. They're undead. Some are just bones, while others have rotting flesh still on them.
You prepare yourself for battle against these undead, but then you notice more coming from other ruins. You don't know where they're all coming from, but you're going to get slowly surrounded if you don't act quickly.
While it may seem like an easy task to evade relatively slow undead, it isn't with so many congregating on your position, not to mention some aren't all that slow.
Test your SKILL and add 2 to the result. Priests of Fel don't have to add two thanks to the emphasis on agility.
Priests of the One True God may invoke a holy presence and hold the undead at bay long enough for them to escape. (No roll needed)
Failing the roll will result in several bites, and claw wounds, before you can escape. Lose 6 STAMINA points.
Assuming you get away, the undead horde surprisingly doesn't chase you very far outside the range of what was once your village. In fact they seem to wander back to the broken and burned buildings. You don't understand why, but you're happy they do, until you hear a sinister voice in your mind.
"Run while you can mortal! You shall not interfere with my plans or you will soon learn the punishment for meddling in the affairs of Azoth the Defiler!"
You suddenly feel your mind under attack! Test your MIND and add 2 to the result. If you fail, you must lose 3 STAMINA points before you can properly shield your mind.
If you survive this attack, you realize that this Azoth being is obviously powerful. It's not here in the immediate vicinity, but you can sense that it isn't far. It's probably coming from the old ruins near the village.
Those ruins had always been there long before your little village even stood, but they were always avoided. You remember that you briefly thought about exploring them a year ago before the disaster happened. One can only wonder how things might've turned out differently if you had.
