Legend

Your statement diffuses the situation somewhat, but they both look at each other and then study you a little more before speaking again.

"If you really wish to make a name for yourself you should do it by helping the people! Not the corrupt government! Let alone the Baron! Tell me, how close are you with the Baron?"
"I just told you, I'm not his friend, I'm justÂ…"
"No, that's not what I mean. I mean are you often able to get physically close to him? You could change much with one quick strike of your weapon."
"I'm not a professional assassin! I'd never get out of there alive. And who says I'd even do that anyway?"
"Well you better pick a side quick, because times are going to be changing soon, and those that are on the wrong side will be dealt without mercy. If you should decide to change your mind, maybe this will be of help."

One of the men passes a small vial of clear liquid to you and then they both leave.

You examine and sniff the liquid and the faint smell is unmistakable, and causes you to recoil instantly and put the top back on. It's "Silent Strike", a VERY virulent poison. Its deadly reputation is known by just about everyone, even by someone who comes from a backwater village like yourself.

You're guessing they want you to poison the Baron. You're not doing anything of sort, the last thing you need is to risk becoming public enemy number one within the entire province, and if you DO decide to do it, it's going to be for your own reasons, not because some dirty strangers off the street who hates the government want you to. You put the poison in your backpack.

The rest of your down time is uneventful until the Baron calls upon you again.
