Legend

While Spikey may be just as cute as the dickens, you might not want to have him travel with you constantly for whatever reason. (Need for secrecy, not wanting him to get hurt, not wanting him to eat little children, etc.) Leaving Spikey at the house is fine. He's perfectly capable of taking care of himself, namely by hunting large sewer rats at night. In fact you could think of him as guarding the house. (Perhaps a good idea considering the element that lives in Holgard)

If you ever want to take him with you, he doesn't count as an item or anything like that; he's a pet that can help you in battle. Whenever you roll doubles in SKILL based combat (Regardless of if you win the round or not) he unleashes his tail quills and does 4 STAMINA points of damage to the enemy. Keep in mind though, if he's with you, he could be in danger. If you don't want to risk having him die, then leave him at the house.

Right now Spikey's small enough not to attract too much attention, he just looks like a strange looking house cat with a spiked tail. Most people won't run in fear (Indeed the girls may even go all soppy over him) but in time he's going to get bigger and you will have to deal with that.

But for right now he's cute, cuddly and spikey.
