The lock isn't very complicated, just big. If you're a Wizard you can cast a simple unlock spell. A technologist can shoot the lock off, if he has a brimstone thrower. A jar of Acid will also work.
Barring these exceptions, you're going to have to bash the lock open with a weapon. A blunt one with get it open with no problems, but using an edged one could cause it to break. If you do this, you'll have to test your LUCK, if you're unlucky you manage to break your weapon instead of the lock! Discard it.
