The Black Citadel
You cut down the last of the skeletons and then quickly dash behind one of the pillars.
"Come out lovely....why are you so cowardly to face me?" says the Medusa.
You remain motionless behind the pillar with your eyes firmly shut, undecided about your next course of action. You feel exhausted, and with your eyes shut, it's going to be tough to target a spell accurately at the Medusa. You'll have to fight with your sword.
The only sound you hear now is the hissing of snakes coming from the head of the wretched woman. Then she speaks again,
"The way out is no longer available to you I'm afraid. You'll have to come out of hiding and face me sooner or later."
You remain silent.
"If you aren't willing to come out and face me like a true warrior, then I have little choice but come to you," she hisses.
You hear the soft sound of footsteps on stones slowly approaching where you are, along with the still dreadful hissing sound of the snakes growing distinctly louder.
"Fear me yet mortal!" says the Medusa powerfully.
Why are you here, really? you think to yourself. You had no idea before, journeying through the central spire of the citadel, that you could have stumbled into a hell's den like this.
If your looking for combat, you may quickly read your Scroll of Protection (Lv.2) if you wish or are still able to. If you do so, a golden ball surrounds you, acting like a shield for your entire body for this round of combat only. It will protect you against three blows, and then after that it will disappear.
