The Third Eye

You walk up the steps and open the door. Before you is a long hall. You enter the third room on the right and slide into a seat not far from Susan, the girl whom you followed here. The room is half filled with some thirty students, several more filing in after you. You feel a bit out of place without a notebook or anything, but what are you going to do?

Not long after the professor enters, a middle aged portly woman with thick glasses and curly hair. She lectures in a flat monotone that just seems to drag on. You wonder how any of these people can stay awake during her torturous bout of boredom. Your mind begins to wander to completely random thoughts, some practical, some abstract.

Someone shakes your arm. You wake up with a start, a little suprised to find that you had fallen asleep in the first place. You look over to see a beautifull bruenette looking at you, a slight smile on her face.

You inadvertantly look into her eyes and absorb her mind. She is twenty-one years old. She is majoring in business management. She loves rebelion in her men, and thinks you are 'kind of cute'. She isn't in any type of relationship, and she's not realy sure she's looking. She lives with her parents and is planning on moving out as soon as she graduates. She is a little tired from a late night of studying and more than a little hungry.

Her gorgeous full lips part as she begins to speak to you. Her voice holds an almost angelic quality. "She's dreadful, isn't she?" She asks.

"Who?" You reply, truly not sure who she is referring to at first. You look around the room to find that you are one of only a few stragglers still in the room.

She laughs a little. "You know exactly who. It takes a bit of suffering to get through her classes."

"Oh," You say, "Her."

"Why haven't I ever seen you in this class before?" She stands up. You stand up as well.

"I, uh..." You start.

"It doesn't matter." She says to you. "My name is Becky. What's yours?" She holds out her hand and you press it to your lips.

"Charmed." You say. "I am starving. Would you care to get a bite to eat with me?"

She smiles shyly and accepts. As the two of you walk out of the class you realise that you still don't have any money. How the hell are you supposed to buy her lunch without any money?! My God, you think, why am I such an idiot?!?

You have food at home, do you invite her there? Or is that too forward? Do you ask her to pay? Or is that too trashy? Maybe you can use your cheap parlor trick of "reading minds" to get some money out of a crowd?

Whatever you do just make up your mind. She's not going to wait on you forever. What do you tell her?
