Either way the man begins to get better. He states he was a merchant on his way back from Holgard, when his caravan was attacked by bandits. He says he only barely escaped and thought he was going to die in this valley until you came along. He mentions the brigands have set up a camp nearby Holgard and are basically robbing anyone going to and from the place.
You thank the man for this information and will be prepared to deal with them when you encounter them. He wishes you luck and heads down the valley
