And following their great and terrible war with the men of the south, the elves retreated from all aspects of administration, education and even from the magical institutions they once established among all the dominions of men. The lands of Zordonia that are now known as seperately, the kingdoms of Swanthea, Tarvonis and Lolegane were rebuilt under the king Say'dar. Then for the following thousand years, the elves remained in their ancient forest of Gyminawr, never to make relations or even contact with the kings of men again. Thus, both races lived in peace for extensive period of time, and the War of Rroal, in which they both fought grew distant and soon became legend.

After a thousand years of peace, a new menace arose to threaten both the races of elves and men, this time from the united orc clans to the east of Gyminawr. The races of elves and men were compelled to join forces for a small period of time. Thus the Great War of Morkal was fought for the sovereignty of the lands of Zordonia and Gyminawr against the united menace from the east from the lands of Ugmar that threatened to engulf all of Albasia. The Great War of Morkal was long and great and was fought for close to fifty years. The orcish hordes managed to overrun the eastern part of Zordonia, pillaging and destroying most of their once great and glorious cities. The orcs also penetrated deep into the ancient forest of Gyminawr of the elves, and following a long and massive seige, Eitha-Gaik, the home city of the elves was sacked and overrun and the great king of the elves, Eyridan was killed.

The orcs, over time, were pushed steddly back to their borders under a united elvish and men army. Three of the nine original orcish clans were annihilated during the battles of Ugmar and Owasal, and following the battle over the largest of the orc clan cities, Radag'mal, and its final destruction, the Great War of Morkal drew to a close.

The Great War of Morkal is perhaps the greatest and most devastating war of all the wars of Albasia for all three of its prime races, though perhaps the elves suffered most of all. Following the destruction of Eitha-Gaik, the magical race of elves and their once glorious and high civilization and culture quickly went into decline. Five hundred years later, the lands of Gyminawr were no more and the lands then generally became known to the men from the kingdoms of Tarvonis and Swanthea, within the now divided lands that once was, simply as the Darklands or Darkwood.

Two great orcish clans, Wak'dern and Thikui after the Great War of Morkal, steadily grew in importance within the clans and laid claim to the old lands of Gyminawr. After a brief war between the two rival clans, many orcs from the victorious Thikui clan migrated into Darkwood and displaced the remaining elves. The elves that refused or who took up arms against the Thikui clan were either slaughtered or enslaved.

Thus the five thousand year history of the elves and their lands of Gyminawr drew to a close only six hundred years ago to the present day. It is now rare to find an elf in any part of Albasia, most of them have disappeared, have been killed or corrupted. The elves that do inhabit Darkwood now are generally wood elves who are generally wandering bandits or dark elves who are the fallen ones.
