The Thing Revisited
Realizing that a serious artic storm could be on the way, Riles said, "Well, we had better hunker down for a bit in the event of a big blow. No use endangering our own lives for some land-lovin' scientists, American or not." Walker and Davison merely nodded agreement as the three men began to pull their gear from the snowmobiles.
Within a few minutes of pulling the survival tents, snowflakes began to drift from the sky and a strong northwest wind began to blow.
Fortunately for the three men, they had just raised their tents as the sky turned a dark purplish-white. Realizing that they were about to be hit be a surprise blizzard, Walker yelled "Quick into your tents while you can still see them!" The three men crawled into their tents, and as Davison shivered and pulled the zipper closed, he began to lose sight of the snowmobiles a scant few feet away for the power and fury of the rising snowstorm.
Unable to communicate with one another through their tents because of the ferocity of the wind and snow, the three men began to wait out the storm.
