The Choice of Ages
You tuck the book into your pocket thinking you might give it your attention later tonight.
Halfway down the next block you hear the screeching of tires, just in time to see an explorer jumping the curb before it slams into you. When you are able to refocus you can see the front tire of the large car on top of your chest. You see a crowd of people gathered around you, and a pool of blood forming around you. Out of the crowd runs a figure, it was the man from before. He leans down and whispers in your ear.
"My friend, your wounds are severe, you may not survive another two minuets, and so I must tell you this. This may seem like the worst day of your life, you might die, but there is Joy awaiting you on the other side. How is this possible, well two-thousand years ago a man named Jesus started telling the world that there is hope in this world of hopelessness, he was then arrested on bogus charges, and nailed to a tree for a crime he didn't commit. When he died on that tree, all of our sins died with him, he took our place in death so that we might have life with him. He loves you, my friend more then anyone ever has, and if you've never felt love before, then know that there is one out there who can show you it. It is Jesus Christ, he is love, he is here right now with you pleading with you to accept his loving embrace, and his free gift of redemption from your sins. He is the only way to God, and to an eternal life of peace and joy, without him, you face an eternal life of sorrow. And just for the record Eternal means without change, without end, no progress into the next day. It is the same sorrow forever. There is no other choice, Life of peace with Christ, or life of suffering without him. But you must chose now before it is too late, for once you die your choice is set in stone. All you need to do is tell Jesus that you know that you are a sinner, and that nothing you can do can erase your sin. That you accept that he died for you and that through his death and resurrection your sin was destroyed. That you accept him into your heart as lord of your life. If you say this to him and believe it, you will be saved. Please my friend deep inside you know my words are truth.
