The Black Citadel
You walk towards the unicorn and are just about to speak when the unicorn looks at you and says,
"Who are you human, and what brings you to Darkwood?" it says in a deep and powerful voice.
You decide to keep quiet about your true purpose here.
"I'm a lone adventurer, seeking fame and fortune," you reply.
"Oh, very well, you can call me Rhiranyth" says the unicorn. "Well, I've met a few adventurous humans in my time. Most of them end up either dead in Darkwood or are enslaved in the Black Citadel, never to see daylight again."
"The Black Citadel?" you reply questioningly.
"Oh yes, the Black Citadel is the home of a very powerful dark sorcerer, Wiculoth, who is in command of a dark shadow that covers all this land, corrupting all, even myself. I was once a pure being, a white unicorn, long ago. Although his power can never fully corrupt me, I am still under his dreaded curse. You should beware of everything that lives and breathes in this land. There is still enough power of good that burns inside me to want to help you. What I wish is for a brave adventurer to be able to defeat the evil that plagues this land, though from the looks of you, I don't think you're up to that massive undertaking. I will give you a test, if you prove yourself to me I will give you something of importance, a reward that will help you, if you choose to, to defeat Wiculoth. If you fail, I will take something from you, that's the law of nature."
