As soon as you enter the classroom, a woman dressed fully in red whom you do not know stops you. She hands you a yellow card. It reads: C-047.
"Sit down," the woman says. "After the rest of the class comes in, she resumes speaking. "I am Jan Ryan," her piercing gaze is quite striking as she talks, "your old instructor has been deemed unworthy by China's Education Council. There is only one rule you need to know in your new world: serve the Great Emperor Zang ti-Lin to the best of your abilities. Though this shall encompass almost every aspect of your life, it is achievable.
"The cards you hold in your hands are your identification cards. Do not lose them, for grave punishment will result. They are your new names. Forget your old names. See, even I am not Jan Ryan anymore. I am X-824.
"Now, I'll go around the room and ask everyone their names. Remember, children, if you respond incorrectly, there will be consequences." She goes around the room, and everyone tells her their new name. She comes to you.
