Eldara VR
Colby was sitting in his room after his brother had ignored his warning earlier. He wasn’t a fan of the thunder himself, but assumed he was safe watching on his Ipad.
Getting ready to watch more Eldara gameplay from his brother, he heard a loud thunder crash. Jumping from fear and burying his head under his blanket, he hesitantly looked up again after he saw a bright white flash outside.
The lights in his room flickered for a moment before switching back on.
*THUD*
The 10 year old heard a bang coming from his brothers room, he noticed the youtube stream had gone offline too.
As he made his way down the hallway, the storm quickly settled, the rain easing off already.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
“Danny, everything okay? Your youtube stream is off…” The youngster received no answer.
Twisting the door knob and pushing the door open, he saw an empty room, the VR headset laying dormant on the floor.
(Huh?) He thought to himself, (Maybe he left the house?…)
Stepping into the room, he looked around once more and saw no inhabitant.
(Well…Maybe I could try the VR…)
He walked over to the headset and controller, standing over them. One more brief look over his shoulders before he gripped the headset in one hand, the controllers in the other.
“Woahhh”
He slipped the headset on and tightened the strap to fit his smaller head shape, making sure to place his wrists through the ring straps of the controllers.
‘Player 2 connected!’
Going through the same calibration process as Danny had done, Colby watched himself appear on the model. The white socks, cargo shorts, red t-shirt and young face were all perfect. The curly blonde hair was captured with great accuracy.
“Cooool”
After the process was over, he selected the server Danny played on and chose Human Knight like his brother.
Loading into the game he was now standing where he had last seen Danny before the stream shut off.

Danny looked up in horror as a giant appeared in front of him, spawning from thin air.
He stumbled backwards and fell, he was mere centimeteres from the ginormous white sock, the slightly sweaty smell infiltrating his tiny nostrils. Looking beyond that, he saw a pair of hairless legs stretch up for miles, only stopped by cargo shorts, a large red t-shirt and the looming happy face of his younger brother, Colby…

Colby had loaded in, his face full of excitement and wonder, it all looked and felt so real!
Noticing he was still in his normal clothes, he tried to open the inventory to switch into armor. Though he couldn’t figure out how, quickly growing frustrated.
It looked much easier when Danny was in control of the game...

“COLBY, I’M DOWN HERE!!!” Danny said, waving an arm up at the towering child.
There was no reaction as the giant looked around in wonder.
(Gotta get his attention somehow) Danny thought.
Picking himself up off the ground he ran across the cobblestone towards the giant white sock of his brother. His plan was to bang his fists against the foot, he’d surely have to feel that.
As he started to pound against the cotton, the foot shifted.

Colby was losing his patience already, he wanted to change his clothes but couldn't, to make matters worse, he was now taking 1 point damage every second or so.
“What the-?”
Not knowing where the tiny amounts of damage were coming from he stomped his foot in frustration.
The damage soon stopped.

Danny watched in horror as the cheery face of his brother turned into a scowl.
“COLBY!!!”
The foot he was pounding his fists against started to rise into the air.
“OH FUCK!”
Tiny pebbles and rocks rained down around Danny from the underside of the sock that was firmly adhered to Colby’s sole. The bulbous features on full display through the slightly damp material.
Danny was looking up at an impossibly large death sentence.
“WAIIIIIT-”
*THUD*
Being knocked off his feet again, after the dust had settled, he saw the foot had landed a centimeter from him.
“THIS IS BORING” Boomed Colby from above before Danny’s world went black.
He was unsure where he was now, stuck in an endless black void.

Colby exited from Eldara and went back to the home menu of the VR device, Looking through the other games available, there were two that caught his eye.
