A Happy Feast With Friends

By: Drakin

As the girls took a seat around the table at the prompting of the gingerbread creatures and, on the opposite side of the table, were able to watch as the little things hurried to and fro with strange vigor for animated pastries. They assembled stacks of cookbooks, remaining chairs, or just climbed on top of each other to form towers to get to whatever they needed.

And many walked along the counters, stirring sauces, rolling dough, cutting vegetables or tenderizing meat. Despite their small sizes they made up for it in both skill and numbers. And before even ten minutes had passed the girls were each presented with their first round of food. A delicious smelling beef stew with a small loaf of cheesy bread for each of them to dunk.

One bite was enough to send the taste buds of all three soaring, and any conversation dropped to a murmur as they worked on the delicious treat. The three had barely finished before the next course was brought out. Rich spaghetti with meatballs nearly the size of apples. And once more the rich flavors sent them over the moon as they dug in.

So it went with meal after meal being brought to them as the girls gulped and chewed and talked in the brief respites between courses about various things.

Not one noticed the new additions to their frames.

All that food had to go somewhere after all, and by the fifth course all three were looking noticeably bloated, with soft muffin tops beginning to form. By the tenth meal the little bloating had developed from a muffin top into a full pot belly that strained ad their clothes. And by the fifteenth mila was the first to feel a pop as the button of her pants broke and thumped against the underside of her stomach.

“Say,” she muttered around a mouthful of meatloaf, “Does anyone feel... different?”

“If by different you mean happy then I'd say so,” Morgana smiled, the faintest double chin wobbling as she swallowed her mouthful, “In fact, I can't remember the last time I felt so good.”

“Here here,” Tam-Tam added, the gecko girl raising a glass of wine and then carefully downing it so as not to spill a drop on her stretched top, “It truly is remarkable what a good meal can do for your mood. I haven't eaten this well in all my life.”

“But that's kind of my point,” Mila replied as she looked at the next platter of food being set down. Honey glazed ham with mashed potatoes, “How much have we eaten already? Isn't it a bit too much?”

“Oh who cares darling?” Tam-Tam smiled, shifting in her seat to make room for her thicker tail, “A good meal should never be wasted on the open sea. You never know when one may come around again. Best enjoy yourself while you can.”

Mila was inclined to agree as she set to work on the next plate, oblivious to another stitch popping somewhere on her clothes. But something just nagged at her that this was still too much somehow. Even if she couldn't recall how many plates of food she'd consumed it should have been way more than she was capable of eating.

Choice 1: Mila's worries fade as the cookies start brining out deserts by the cartload and the girls gains increase. But is there more to all this food?

Choice 2: Mila can't let it go and wills herself up from the table, escaping to go find Darious and ask what to do.

Choice 3: Mila tries to escape but the cookies trip her and feed her something different and special.
