Growth and Grit

As you are getting ready to go to college you see that the oppurtunity to serve a mission is on the horizon. This is something you have always wanted to do, so deciding to go has never been a challenge. You go to your Bishop and open your papers and you begin to work on them. But the more work you begin to do, the more you realize that you need to develop a deeper testimony of the church. You have never had an issue using the testimonies of others, but deep down you know that that will not be enough for your mission. It is during this time that you sign up for a mission prep class. However, when you go to the class, you can see the ton of work that the teacher wants you to put in, including one particularly scary assignment of reading the scriptures 15 minutes a day and journaling for another 15! However, you do see that the assignment is self-graded, so you could fake it very easily. He also doesn't check the journal, so you don't need to do that. What do you do?
