A New Home in the Country

The plant is big and bulbous, like a mushroom, and bright orange like a warning sign. You approach your face to it, trying to identify it. In fact, you're feeling reckless today, so you poke one of the blossoms with a stick.

The blossom puckers, and sprays billions of spores in your face. You have trouble breathing for a while, and wipe the excess spores off your face. They sting your eyes, and you have trouble seeing.
