Everything Went Dark

No. Evie was tired. She definitely imagined it...right? Evie shook away those thoughts. Even if it was Tatum, Evie didn't want to be a witness or the other victim. This was a killing game after all. Evie stayed seated at the table. That muffin looked really good. It probably was, considering that it was the only muffin left. Evie picked it up and took a bite. Mmmmm. It was good. Evie took another bite. And another. This was one of the best muffins she's ever had.

You may be thinking, oh. This muffin is poisoned, isn't it? But no, actually! It's not poisoned or tampered with or dangerous to Evie's health! It was legitimately a really tasty muffin. Yum, yum! Evie finished the muffin. She would have gone back to get another if the muffin she ate hadn't been the last one.

Even though she was finished, Evie stayed at the table. She was waiting for another person or to hear something. She hadn't heard a thing since Tatum screams. Evie stayed silent, she didn't want to draw attention to herself. After a few minutes of silence, the dining hall door opened. Evie turned to look at whoever opened the door.

Evie blinked, who--oh! She recognized who that was. Evie didn't say anything still, why was this person here? As if to answer Evie's mental question, they threw a knife at Evie. Evie stared back, she didn't move. The knife would hit directly between her eyes. It hadn't yet, it was going in slow motion. To make it end faster, Evie closed her eyes. Everything went dark.
