Everything Went Dark
Meanwhile, Evie was hiding in the car that had initially hit Addie's. She was really unsure about whether or not she should call or text anyone because of the notification sounds of the ringer. She didn't want to hurt her friends. But she decided to take a risk and call Tatum because her ringer is always off. However, it didn't seem to be off when she called it. Oh no, she had zero idea that Tatum was close by! The ringer was turned off quickly but the sound had been made. Evie clamped a hand over her mouth as she saw a spider creature crawl over the car she was in and pounce onto who she assumed was Tatum. She had killed Tatum.
Evie waited for what felt like ages before using her phone camera to see if there were any of the monsters around. There weren't any that she could see, so she carefully (and quietly) maneuvered her way out of the sideways car. She tried to ignore the corpse she climbed on top of to get to the side of the car. After pushing herself up, she stood on top of the car(which was really just the side of the car) and looked around. And then she realized it wasn't Tatum she had gotten killed. Evie hopped down and tiptoed over.
Jennan was lying on the ground, Tatum's phone clutched in her hand. Evie lightly tugged the phone out of Jennan's hand and turned the ringer off. Then Evie decided, screw it. And called every single one of her friends that were in the car with her. Even though she knew that Addie and Jennan were dead, it wouldn't hurt to call their phones because if Jennan had Tatum's phone, maybe someone else had Jennan's? No. Everyone's phones went to voicemail. Evie was quick to hang up each time, though. Finally, she called Jordan. Who instantly hung up. Evie's hopes shot up sky high. Was Jordan alive?! Jordan sent her a text. 'Evie? Is that you??' Evie responded. 'Yes!! I'm by Addie's van, where are you and are you with anyone else?'
Jordan didn't say where she was, she just said that she was on her way back and asked if Evie was with anyone else. Evie said she had accidentally gotten Jennan killed and she felt really bad. Jordan didn't respond. Evie noticed that her phone was almost dead and informed Jordan that she would be using Tatum's phone instead. Jordan replied to that with a thumbs up and told Evie to wait for her for about twenty minutes. What should Evie do?
