Everything Went Dark

She did tell Jordan that she would wait. Why lie to Jordan and leave? Evie didn't move a muscle. She was scared. You would be too, so don't be judgy. It was never this quiet. Ever. It was really weird. The only sounds were...well nothing really. It was dead silent. So when she did hear something, it was really jarring. Like just now, in the distance, Evie heard a ton of screams and a few sunshots. Those sounds were silenced very quickly. Yikes. Any survivors were getting slaughtered. Evie hoped Jordan would be there soon.

About half an hour went by. Evie didn't want to message Jordan yet. She wasn't sure if her phone's ringer was on or not yet. Even if it was off, what if she would accidentally distract her?! Evie was overthinking. But that was fine because none of it mattered because Evie saw a figure slowly approaching. Could that be Jordan? Evie slowly (and quietly, obviously) got out of the car rubble and also began to make her way over. It was Jordan!! Jordan lifted her hand and waved softly. Evie did the same.

Once they had gotten within arms reach of one another, Jordan pulled up an image of Costco on her phone, a way of telling Evie that Costco is where they will go. Evie nodded and then two began to walk in the direction they needed to. How will they get to Costco? Well, Jordan just knows how. She's cool like that. Anyways, the journey would have gone quicker if they didn't have to be extremely quiet. It was slow. Uncomfortably silent. It was also boring. The adrenaline in their systems had died down due to the fact they hadn't had any life-threatening encounters in about thirty minutes.

Skipping ahead a few hours because nothing interesting really happens, the two had finally made it to Costco. Finally. The doors were closed, maybe people were inside? Only one way to find out. Check?
