Everything Went Dark
Elliana and Jordan chose to stand very still. There was a chance the alien spider would ignore them. After hearing the leaf crunch under Jordan's foot, it jumped down from the tree and creeped around it, trying to trace the sound's origins. It was extremely dissatisfied to find that every time it stepped on the ground around the tree, more leaves crunched and made noise. It hovered near Jordan and Elliana. Elliana had stretched out her hand for Jordan to grab. Jordan took it and squeezed it. They were very understandably scared.
It was still trying to determine the source of the original leaf crunch. Elliana and Jordan had to cover their mouths with their hands because they feared that their breathing would be too loud. It got even closer. This thing was so so scary up this close. It got so close that one of its freakishly long legs stepp on Jordan's foot. The tip of the leg was very sharp, so it pretty much impaled Jordan's foot. Jordan's eyes widened and whimpered. She squeezed Elliana's hand even tighter.
Then the shock disappeared and the true pain set in. Jordan let out a mangled-sounding cry. It was muffled from her hand covering her mouth, but the creature still heard it. No one even had time to blink because of how fast it pounced on Jordan. Elliana let go of her hand and stumbled backwards and fumbled for her gun. "No! Elliana, put the gun away!" Jordan had managed to say as she tried to struggle away from the alien creature. "Run!" Listen to Jordan?
